Mỹ Sơn, Duy Xuyen District

Listed as a World Heritage Site, Mỹ Sơn served as a burial place for the Cham royalty and a sacred site for Hindu ceremonies. Built between the 4th and 14th centuries in a blend of architectural styles, the cluster of partially ruined tower-temples remains one of the oldest archaeological sites in the region. Inspect many types of religious stone buildings on the site, such as a brick sanctuary, gate-tower, and a house sheltering valuables offered to the deities. Inside you can find many inscriptions in Sanskrit and old Cham, which portray the ancient rulers' need to receive affirmation from the divine.
