Humboldt Redwoods State Park is a state park of California, United States, containing Rockefeller Forest, the world's largest remaining contiguous old-growth forest of coast redwoods. It is located 30mi south of Eureka, California, near Weott in southern Humboldt County, within Northern California, named after the great nineteenth-century scientist, Alexander von Humboldt. The park was established by the Save-the-Redwoods League in 1921 largely from lands purchased from the Pacific Lumber Company. It is part of the Northern California coastal forests ecoregion and has 23600acre of old-growth forests. 17000acre are old-growth redwoods, comprising the entire Bull Creek watershed and the Rockefeller Forest.
Nearby U.S. Route 101, which generally follows the Eel River and its South Fork in this part of the North Coast, offers easy access to the park and nearby towns with connections to the scenic highway, Avenue of the Giants, also mostly located within or near park boundaries.

Unbelievable. This park is absolutely fabulous. World's cannot describe how amazing the redwoods really are. We visited a few parks on our trip and this park was one of my favorites. The Avenue of the Giants is breath taking and driving thru this park was a highlight of my trip. I highly recommend you visit if you can. You will not be disappointed!
An amazing trail in an amazing place. You feel as though you have stepped into a fairytale. See many majestic redwoods, find a respite from the heat, or hike for exercise... this place meets varied needs. There is an excellent fruit stand just down the road where you can enjoy blackberry popsicles after that wonderful hike. Easy access, great for families. You will not be disappointed, an excellent stop along the Avenue of the Giants with for a picnic.
