  • Since the museum moved to this location there has been one fabulous exhibit after another. The current exhibit, Woven Interiors, has textiles from early medieval Egypt dating back to the fourth and fifth centuries. Most if the textiles are glass framed so you can go close to study each detail. The basement gallery for the permanent collection is currently exhibiting tapestry-woven textiles from around the world. One of the most beautiful and vibrant exhibits I've seen there. Just a couple of blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro and a short walk from the Renwick, this wonderful museum shouldn't be missed.
  • A fascinating and unusual combination of historical information about Washington DC and collections of textiles from around the planet. Well worth your time, especially if you take a guided introductory tour - the one I was on was led by an excellent and very knowledgeable individual. With regular events and projects covering wide variety of topics, I am certainly that I'll be returning to this museum regularly!
