  • A memorial in the middle of Indiana plaza honoring Dr. Benjamin F. Stephenson, founder of the Grand Army of the Republic, a fraternal organization for Union veterans. It’s well kept (you’ll see a wreath laid at the bottom occasionally) but it’s certainly nothing to plan a trip around or write home about.
  • The Grand Army of the Republic Memorial is a nice plaza area right in downtown DC. It's a bit overshadowed by all the nearby museums, but the Memorial is surrounded by beautiful cherry trees and is a great place to relax. Convenient to the Gallery Place area and to the Mall.
