East Potomac Park is a park located on a man-made island in the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., in the United States. The park lies southeast of the Jefferson Memorial and the 14th Street Bridge, and the Washington Channel lies between the park and the Potomac River. Amenities in East Potomac Park include the East Potomac Park Golf Course, a miniature golf course, a public swimming pool (the East Potomac Park Aquatic Center), tennis courts, and several athletic fields (some configured for baseball and softball, others for soccer, rugby, or American football). The park is a popular spot for fishermen, and cyclists, walkers, inline skaters, and runners heavily use the park's roads and paths. A portion of Ohio Drive SW runs along the perimeter of the park.Using our world travel planner, Washington DC attractions like Potomac Park can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
East Potomac Park is accessible primarily by road via Ohio Drive SW. The DC Circulator National Mall Route, which began service in June 2015, provides the best public transportation option for reaching East Potomac Park. The closest Circulator stop is at East Basin Drive SW south of the Jefferson Memorial, which is within easy walking distance of Ohio Drive SW and the north end of the park. Metrobus does not serve the park, and there is no Washington Metro stop close to the park. The nearest Metro stop is the Smithsonian station at Independence Avenue SW and 12th Street SW, about six blocks away. (Walking from Metro requires accessing the park via Raoul Wallenberg Place SW, Maine Avenue SW, and Ohio Drive SW.)
Potomac Park Reviews
We visited the park in end of March 2018, the cherry blossom was very full bloom. Spectacular and beautiful. more »
Most of the flowers are gone and so are most of the outdoor tourists so put on comfortable shoes and walk around. See how many monuments and statues you can see. Enjoy the pond too. more »
Great location. Building is clean and well maintained. Staff went above and beyond in helping me prepare for my move. Great views too. I would recommend.
Please, PLEASE read over my comments before you move-in or sign a deal at this apartment. I regret that there is no possibility for 0 stars. Ive lived at this apartment in both 7 and first floor. The problems are mostly similar. I have posted disgusting pictures of how my apartment was trashed due to the lack of maintenance by the apartment company. 1. The maintenence handy men on the apart are very rude. When they come into the apartment, which happened more than 20times in the past year, they do not listen to my requests like taking the shoes off for coming in the house because their shoes were dirty. And straight having rude comments or gestures. 2. During my stay, they had to fix the air conditioning for over a week(during my finals). Extremely loud and dirty, to a point where it was not really a livable condition in the room. After the fix, they did not even clean up after themselves well. The waxy tape like substance started coming off from the wooden floors. When I complained regarding the issue, the answer I got from the apartment office is that I cannot be compensated, hence I needed to contact Bernstein (even then there were no compensation). They did not even call their company themselves and made me call them. 3. The kitchen sink over flowed more than 10 times. Which apartment maintenance once blamed me for it, but when Berstein corporate maintenance came and assured me that it was not my fault, but it was the people living above me that made the problem. (supporting evidence for the staff being rude) 4. There is 0 ventilation and no fan in the kitchen. If you cook the smell will last for days even after having the window open constantly. 5. The old wodden floors are old and cracked; making it hard to clean. 6. Cleaning ladies in the hall when they clean the public areas of the apartment are loud and are constantly on their phone. They will be an unwanted alarm clock for you at times. 7. Living on the first floor means that there will be smokers outside the apartment all the time. Also, you will not get much sunlight in the room. _________________________________ The following is the comments after response from the owner was made. It has been a year since I have left the apartment. The reviews I claimed are not from momentous rage, but concrete facts. The owner claims " all issues were addressed". The only issues handled successfully would be the sink getting unclogged. But who cleaned the dirty house after food waste & oil included water over flow from your sink into the kitchen floors and inside the drawers, underneath the refrigerator? I did. Was the unclogging issue successfully addressed? No, as I stated this happened over 10 times (yes, some minor but some very severe). So the only "successfully" addressed issue was also the worst part about living in this apartment. To counteract the owner's point further: Problems 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are concerns for anyone who would want to move into this apartment.
