You must see the Judy Chicago exhibit. Impactful perspective on death and grief. No photos allowed for that exhibit. Modern and historical art in many genres. Expect to visit about 2 hours more »
I wanted this to be more. I wanted the art to be arranged in a more clearly thoughtful way—either by medium or by time period or something. I wanted the descriptions to be more meaningful and edifying. Two artists whose works were near each other were described as “meticulously crafting” their work. I think that should almost go without saying when describing artists featured in a museum.
Very beautifully decorated museum close to Metro Center. Love the concept of this museum — highlighting the works of women specifically. The ground floor of the museum is so gorgeous! I think you can even rent the space for a wedding venue. I had the opportunity to see the “Contour of Feeling” exhibit during its last week. Very incredible sculptures! Staff was super friendly too. Will definitely be back for its other upcoming installments. Also, the museum shop is a great place to buy feminist related gifts.
