  • Phenomenal plantation tour experience. I’ve visited multiple plantations on my six trips to New Orleans and this one is the best. It provides the most real and accurate portrayal of what plantation life was like for those who lived and worked there. I highly recommend it over Oak Alley or Laura Plantations.
  • We drove to the Whitney Plantation from New Orleans, which took about an hour. Once we arrived, staff greeted us warmly. The reception area features a small gallery with important historical background, which one can stroll and read on their own. We followed our tour guide Sydney, who is super charming, knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. Her explanation greatly facilitated our experience and understanding of the Plantation and the history of the area called German Coast. Sydney guided our group through the major landmarks on the Plantation at a comfortable pace and left plenty time for us to explore the site after on our own. The facilities on the Plantation are well-maintained, which gave us a rough idea of how hard and harsh life on a plantation could have been back in the day especially under the grilling August sun. We want to thank all the staff, particularly Sydney, for their excellent work and for providing us with such a profound experience!
