Jagger Museum, Volcano

4.7
Must see · Specialty Museum · Museum
Jagger Museum offers sheltered viewing of a volcanic crater. Visit the outdoor terrace to get an even closer look inside the volcano. One of the busiest spots on the Crater Rim Drive Tour, the museum features seismographs that track volcanic activity so you'll know if an eruption is coming with plenty of time to evacuate. See suits worn by volcanologists who got a little too close to lava flows. When you park, look out for the nene, Hawaii's official bird. The geese wander the parking lot looking for snacks. • Wait until after sunset to see the glow from the caldera.
  • Wonderful place. We could see live volcanoes beside this museum. We could gather knowledge about the local people & history of volcanoes eruption here. The Polynesians tribes history was there. We could see lot of books too there & those were available for sale. The scientists studying about volcanoes, tools were kept there to look at.
