Tyler State Park reviews
Wouldn't be bad except the constant racket from weedeaters, lawnmowers and chainsaws going from dawn to dusk. more »
What a nice park! Great, easy 3+ mile hike around Lake Tyler... Easy enough for our toddler. Beautiful & clean. Many amenities, including boat rentals. The campgrounds looked great, from primitive... more »
Best Texas State Park I've been to. Water was very clear. The grounds were well kept, but the bathrooms and showers could use some work. Stainless steel sinks and commodes reminiscent of older highway rest areas. Doors were hard to close. A majority of the sites were smaller pull-throughs, so larger rigs (30+) may have trouble getting in. Electric was stable at 114 volts for 30 amp service, but dipped to 110 easily. Probably want to watch your appliances. Lots of raccoons at dusk, and they run the park at night. Pretty acclimated to people too. Our neighbors had some jump up on their picnic table while they were eating. That's why they caution folks to not feed the animals. Overall, a very good visit with pleasant park hosts and rangers.
Our first visit was today to check the place out for future camping. I loved the store & pedal boats! The area was well kept & staff was so nice. Campsites were nice & snug within woods. Walking to each loop is out, unless your training for a 5k😝 Huge hills! Loved it none the less.
