The Abbey of Gethsemani reviews
Abbey is a Heaven on earth. I visit friends every year in Kentucky and a trip to the Abbey is always a must. The employees in the giftshop are an extension of the Monks and the jellies are a treasure. more »

RETREAT!! Wonderfully run gift shop. Hand-crafted art. The best selection spiritual life books anywhere! Liturgical HOURS prayed properly as parishes should do!
I have been at least 8 times. The more time you spend in quiet prayer and meditation, the more you will get out of it! The orientation is great, attending the monks chanting is peaceful, and perusing the library, walking the grounds and hiking the area are all very rejuvenating. The hospitality of the monks is amazing and all is on a free will offering basis. In addition, you can support them by purchasing wonderful items at their gift shop (which is closed Sunday). You can pick up gifts and mementos of a fantastic stay here!
