A place where prehistoric Indian tribes once hunted, fished, and camped and today this natural area is home and refuge for a wide variety of wildlife, waterfowl, and plant species.

Outdoor education sessions, family nature programs, Scout programs, and Naturalist-led walks are available through the West Shores Interpretive Center on a year-round basis. Visitors of all ages enjoy exploring the Interpretive Center, which has many exciting animal and nature exhibits and hands-on activities.

Over nine miles of mowed hiking trails await you. Come explore the marshes and forests along the west shore of Green Bay.

Barkhausen offers a variety of trail lengths and a small nature center. There is a pond near the nature center where you can catch frogs with provided nets. It is generally peaceful and quiet there. more »
