  • Snug Harbor is a hidden gem in Staten Island. I enjoyed their gardens very much. The cost was great-it’s free. A wonderful getaway and place to go to connect with nature.  more »
  • I'm annoyed I didn't know about this place when everything was still in bloom, since I can only imagine that would've made the experience of this place even more impressive. A place definitely worth.....  more »

  • Snug Harbor happens to be like my Back Yard. I walk my dog every morning and evening in the Beautiful Recreational Park. I live 30 secs away from the Park. My children have spend most of their childhood in Snug Harbor. From just kicking a soccer ball to taking Piano, Guitar, Flute lessons I side Snug harbor. When they were younger they enjoyed the Children's Museum as they grew older they enjoyed the Chinese Garden. They watched their classmates play softball. I am trying to get them to enjoy the Historic / Art Building which offers what Snug Harbor used to be and what Staten Island looked as Farmland. It also has a Farm that they grow and sell Fresh Produce (to which they have not given much attention in the last 2-3 yrs.and it looks very Sad). But it is a Beautiful place to spend the say exploring or come to see a concert, or be a part of a Festival or an Art Show...never the less you will get far more than for what you bargained. Enjoy!
  • This is amazing place to visit. The grounds are beautiful, amazing architecture, and a valuable resource for the island. That being said, it seems to be a bit run down and mismanaged. Their is so much potential here, but they seem to have sporadic events and offerings and could do much better job of advertising and attracting patrons and events. The Chinese garden is especially strange. There is a separate price to enter, and yet the building have seen a steady decrease in upkeep since opening. The Noble collection and Staten island museum as well as the children's museum are all on site and are amazing. Well worth a visit despite my concerns.
