Specialty Museum · Museum
Immerse yourself in America's Gilded Age at Lightner Museum, where you'll be surrounded by Victorian-era antiquities. These collections are inside the Spanish Renaissance Revival-style Hotel Alcazar, originally built it 1887 and on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum, with three stories of artifacts from 19th-century life, is perhaps most well-known for its stained-glass works by Louis Comfort Tiffany and its Music Room, which is filled with instruments from the turn of the 20th century. Other exhibits include its first-floor Victorian village re-creation. For Lightner Museum and beyond, use our St. Augustine road trip planning tool to get the most from your St. Augustine vacation.

  • This is one of my favorite places to visit in St Augustine. If you are a local St John's Counry resident and are looking for something to do on a Sunday, this is free! For the rest of the week it is reasonably priced for the history offered. They even have a scavenger hunt for the kids. We have been a few times and every time we go there is something new! The museum does a lot of interaction with local artist. It's nice to see new things when we go. They also offer a military discount! This is a must see on you trip to St. Augustine!
  • An absolutely wonderful museum and historic building! In the oldest city of St Augustine built by Henry Flagler as a hotel, visited and occupied by some of the richest people of the gilded age. It still has one of the first indoor pools in a hotel in America. I highly recommend!
