This was the third time I've been to Burgess Falls, and it continues to be a great place to visit. The trail to the waterfall is not overly difficult and should be accessible to most anyone. It's a.... more »
My kids hate to hike but they enjoyed the easy walk with constant water features to stop and look at. Temps were wonderful and the park was pleasant. Remember though, slow hikers should let others pass by. We need to crest a long term solution to allow visitors access to the gorge. I know why we don’t have it now. But I think we can do better.
This magnificent fall would be a great hiking experience for families of all ages. Lots of steps built into the trails, (yet still rugged enough that you still consider it a hiking trail) railings and overlook areas. Once you get to the top, and are ready to head back down, you'll see a sign that says "Road to parking lot". That's a gravel road which kids can run down, safely, and is an easy walk back to the car. Great to use in case of weather emergency or crowded days. There are also bathrooms and a playground here.
