  • Today was our first and last visit to Silver Springs since the state took it over. Very disappointing. Weeds all over, very few fall "blooms" visible. Some walkways were closed. Just not like it used ...  more »
  • Didn’t go on the glass bottom boat ride, but the park is worth the trip even without the boat ride. Peaceful trails and pathways, beautiful trees and plants, and awesome views of the spring. This plac...  more »

  • Definitely a must do if you have never been! I am a local and have been to Silver Springs more times than I can count but I always enjoy every return visit. The glass bottom boats are a must do and appeal to all ages. It’s one of my favorite mini day excursions, especially with out of town guests. It’s a perfect representation of Old Florida and the boat captains are full of the stories of the history of the park and of the area. The park is also dog friendly!
  • Great park. Remember going it for years when it was an animal/theme park. Much different now but like what they have done with it. Glass bottom boats still operate so that's awesome. We put our canoe in down river (at Ray Wayside Park, have to pay 5 bucks to park, has boat ramp and canoe/kayak launch) and made our way up to the spring head. Minimal monkey action that day. Next day was enjoying the same. Rounded a corner to find the monkeys dive bombing the river from 20+ feet up and surrounding the river. Fun to watch but ended up turning around instead of chancing a flipped boat. Beautiful river. Crystal clear water. Great for a day time stop or stay the night in the other section of the park with the campground (Used to be Silver River State Park).
