Surrounding a glacial lake, Green Lake Park features landscaped lawns and scattered trees that reflect off the glacial waters. The park was part of the 1903 Olmsted Plan, which aimed to create interconnected green spaces throughout Seattle. Set out on the dirt footpath or the two-lane bicycle and stroller path, which stretch the 4.5 km (2.8 mi) perimeter of the lake. You'll see soccer games, Tai Chi classes, and other outdoor activities in the park's open spaces. Many people do not realize that the Green Lake Park and surrounding attractions were inspired by Central Park and Golden Gate Park. Green Lake is a man-made lake with a 3 mile trail around it. The lake itself offers SUP, kayak, and paddle boat rentals. Early in the morning you can enjoy watching the crew teams row. Connected to the park is a mini-gold course, an off leash dog park, baseball fields, tennis courts, the Woodland Zoo, the Woodland Park, and even a small fishing park...all of these green spaces are link together, though locals tend to view them as separate entities. Much of Seattle visits Green Lake on sunny days and it is a common date site with coffee shops and restaurants around the perimeter.

We went to the swimming area by Seattle Public Theatre. It's free! And it's safe! There is a very shallow place inside a rope. To go outside the rope, guards ask that you pass a quick swimming test. Then you can use the driving deck.
