Wormsloe Historic Site reviews
You will need a car to get here as the entrance to the trail on the park is quite a ways from the gate. You drive down an impressive entry and the site itself is more of a nature trail, which is... more »
Enjoyed the trails and the lovely oak trees with hanging Spanish moss all around. A great place to have on your itinerary for Savannah. more »
Oh, the beauty of the road into the estate. The overhanging trees made for a spectacular backdrop. The grounds are delightful, and the history interesting. We got some helpful info at the visitor’s center and was able to follow the trails with the signs provided. The ruins aren’t much to see, but go for the scenery.
The start of Wormsloe is easily the best part, with the arched trees making a picture perfect scenery. Sadly the rest of the site didn't live up the great start. The trials were small and did not really seem taken care of, and the few stops along the way lacked sufficient information to really be informative. Plus the fact that you couldn't see the Forrest Gump house was sort of a bummer. This is something worth visiting for sure, but i am not sure how worth it is to do anything other than stand at the entrance taking pictures.
