The University of California, Santa Cruz (UC Santa Cruz or UCSC) is a public land-grant research university in Santa Cruz, California. It is one of ten University of California campuses and the nearest one to Silicon Valley. Located south of San Francisco at the edge of the coastal community of Santa Cruz, the campus lies on 2,001 acres (810 ha) of rolling, forested hills overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay.

Founded in 1965, UC Santa Cruz began with the intention to showcase progressive, cross-disciplinary undergraduate education, innovative teaching methods and contemporary architecture. The residential college system consists of ten small colleges that were established as a variation of the Oxbridge collegiate university system.
UC Santa Cruz is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity". It is a member of the Association of American Universities, the most prestigious alliance of research universities in the United States and Canada.

  • A majestic campus surounded by tall redwoods and eucalyptus tree. The wildlife here is use to people walking around so don't be surprized to see a deer or squirrel walk passed without any hesitation.
  • Was walking to class and caught a HUGE growler. Left it in the sink and dipped, so nobody know who did. Weak man gave me his curry sauce. Slurp up that goose, know how I say that.
