  • Awesome state park that is just far enough off the beaten path to make it feel remote. No lodging and the campground is pretty well hidden away. The major trails usually have a vault toilet. There is a large playground and pavilion by the Pickle Creek and Whispering Pine trails that also has water fountains. All the hiking has been type notch in my experience.
  • It's been years since I've been out here. Left disappointed today, trails are not maintained. Very over grown. It's a shame. It could be so nice out here. We left covered in scratches on our extremeties from thorn bushes. And who knows what else. I wish Missouri wouldn't have cut funding for state parks. People need places to enjoy! Also, the map was very confusing, as well as the signage. I've been lost out there before. Would be nice to have the connector loops have mileage on them.
