Theme Park · Water / Amusement Park
A product of the expansion of amusement parks in the early 20th century, Playland Park today sits on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the only examples in America of a government-owned theme park. The park's rides range from the family-friendly to the extreme. Experience wild runs, such as the Double Shot or Starship 2000, to achieve blinding speeds, or climb aboard a classic Ferris wheel for a slower-paced ride. You can also explore the mirror maze and spooky zombie castle. Be sure to check the park's schedule to see if you can catch any of the frequently offered free concerts and music events. Keep in mind that many of the thrill rides have minimum height requirements for riders. Put Playland Park and other Rye attractions into our Rye itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Only government park in the entire U.S. world famous dragon coaster. The park is small but a fun day or night out. I go regularly, and my kids have a great time every visit. Good for a date night or just a timeout. They have a beach and pool but not the highlight of the park. Have some fun today at Playland park.
  • I love Playland they have plenty of rides and games for the family. It's $30 for all day pass. The lines are long but the wait is not so bad. They have an awesome pool for swimming and private beach. They also have many food options ranging from cotton candy to burgers and everything in between. I would recommend this place for a nice day out with the family.
