The Susan B. Anthony Museum & House is a learning center that shares the story of Susan B. Anthony's life and work through tours and programs at the modest home in the heart of Rochester, NY, that was the home base for the great reformer for 40 years and through an online presence. Now a National Historic Landmark, the House was the headquarters of the National American Woman Suffrage Association when Anthony was president. Susan B. Anthony was arrested here for voting in 1872, and she died in her room in this house in 1906. Docents share the story of her courage and perseverance through tours from 11-5 every day but Monday and major holidays.

  • I can't believe I'm giving the SBA house a 3, but we both agreed it was not a great tour. It started with a slide presentation and a talk from the docent - the docent did not know how to use...  more »
  • Interesting tour, but mighty short (45 min) for the $15 cost. Some new information but not as much as I had hoped. Found Women's Rights Museum in Geneva more informative and it presented in-depth...  more »
  • We took our 7 year old daughter here while in Rochester for the house tour. Our guide, Martha, was great. The tour was filled with lots of useful history of Susan B. Anthony and the struggle of women fighting for their right to vote. It was interesting to see the home represented as it would have been at the time it was the epicenter of the fight for women's suffrage. Well worth the visit to see how far we have come as a nation and a vivid reminder of the work that still needs to be done.
  • I am handicapped so climbing three flights of stairs was difficult but the guide was so helpful and patient with me and didn't continue the teaching until I got there and made sure I had a chair to sit in. I had a walker and everyone was so helpful. I couldn't bring walker up the stairs but there were very sturdy handrails. The guide was so informative and knowledgeable and showed that she really loved to teach us. I learned a lot and am so much more appreciative of Susan B.
