The last great independent movie theater in Providence. Good restaurants and bars are nearby and make for a enjoyable afternoon or easy night out. Don't miss a chance to go.
The art house indie theater is a living relic from a time gone by, a golden age of cinema when art transcended language and culture to hold humanity in it's vestigial grip. The seats are comfortable enough and the popcorn is popcorn enough. Its not a multiplex and was never meant to be. The screen and the sound make the bulk of the experience. This is the place to find most indie movies before they drop off the radar. The Avon has single handedly kept up the culture in Thayer street for years. Thank you!
