Must see · Water Park · Theme Park
Dollywood sits in the verdant foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Owned by country singer Dolly Parton, the venue offers standard amusement park thrill rides, as well as attractions with traditional crafts and music of this region. The park frequently features musical events, with regular appearances by Dolly herself. You can choose from ten themed areas packed with roller coasters, rafting rides, craft exhibits, carousels, water-toboggan rides, and live shows. The park's signature attraction is a narrow-gauge train pulled by two steam locomotives. Try to plan for a stop at the museum dedicated to gospel music. It has an interactive video and sound clips, plus thousands of items belonging to the genre's biggest names. • My husband and I went for New Years and we had a blast. It was magical. We saw Christmas in the Smokies and loved that they told the true meaning of the season, Jesus! We also loved the train ride! The ambiance of the park was wonderful and the coasters were all super fun! It was busy but we got the fast pass and it made a HUGE difference.
  • Great theme park. Great layout. The Festival of Nations is one of my favorites. There are always great shows and food during that festival. Wonderful time to visit during fall and winter. Consider doing a season pass if you plan to visit more than twice because it will pay for itself. Lots of special things about this place. Gets better every time we go!
