Tonto Natural Bridge State Park features one of the largest natural bridges in the world--a true geological wonder. The 56 m (183 ft) tall arch is the result of thousands of year of erosion. The park has a picnic area as well as observation points. Take to the hiking trails to explore the area around and under the bridge and to admire the rock formations. One of the trails leads to a small waterfall. The hikes are not too long, but some are steep, and the ground might be wet and slippery. Be sure to bring enough water and wear hiking boots. • Beautiful park. Three different trails of various difficulties. There's a bridge at the bottom that connects the two main trails allowing hikers to loop around. That bridge is temporarily closed. The gift shop and visitor office is nice. Helpful staff. Outhouse style toilets only. Relatively clean for this type of setup.
  • Amazing, beautiful place. I came here with my family a lot as a child and as an adult I love introducing Arizona transplants to this wonderful work of nature. The trails can be hazardous so make sure you're in tip top shape! It's a wonderful day trip from Phoenix and absolutely worth the gas. (My husband says the outhouses are luxuriously spacious!)
