  • Easy walk to the overlook of the arch. The terrain to the arch is rugged, with stairs and hills, though the distance is not an issue. Plenty of photo opportunities and simply gorgeous.  more »

  • This was beautiful. Just moved to Kentucky and found it out sightseeing one day. The view is spectacular. There is also another great overlook on down the road a couple of miles. Be careful driving to the end of the main road. There is a sign that "says road ends at waters edge" and it means it. Beautiful park and beautiful drive.
  • Natural arch was a beautiful location and was exactly what I was looking for! They had plenty of nice picnic areas and some open areas when you first pull in, but I was there for the trails. They have two main trails, one that goes beneath and circling the arch itself. That one is shorter and much more for families with children and the like. It's the perfect length and had amazing views. Being underneath the arch was fantastic and felt like being in a huge echo chamber. Very cool. The second trail is much longer and slightly less maintained, possibly due to it's overall size. It's more intermediate to advanced. It meanders and takes you up and down, along creeks and through wooded areas, all the way to the point that it actually intersects with a gravel road. It was a beautiful and challenging hike that I hope to tackle again soon! My only problem with it is that the trail head lies, it says it's only five miles, and underneath it someone has written a more accurate length of 6.5 miles. Although I'm not even sure that's correct either, I'm almost certain it's longer than that. So if you plan on hiking it pack plenty of water and be prepared for a long trek. Well worth it though.
