Take in panoramas of the forest, surf, and sand, and watch for birds, seals, and whales on Asilomar State Beach. Walk down the 1.2 km (.75 mi) coastal trail through native vegetation. Watch for moon jellies and tiny crabs and investigatesee the tide pools and rock formations as you stroll along the 1.6 km (1 mi) beach. Snorkel or scuba dive to get up close with marine life offshore. The trail leading to the beach is wheelchair accessible and beach wheelchairs are available to rent. Cycling is permitted on the nearby bike lane. Note that the beach does not have restrooms.   • This beautiful beach is truly a hidden gem! The beach is clean and quiet and NOT OVERCROWDED like some of the surrounding beaches. There is plenty of street parking and even designated handicapped.....  more »
  • Our favorite walking place on the entire Monterey Peninsula. Great trails and magnificent close up views of the rocks, waves, beaches, birds. Great for a daily or occasional walk.  more »
