I had never been to a funeral in a thunderstorm before. My former pastor was buried here today. It was amazing. The honor guard played taps and shot off their guns in the pouring rain. Talk about dedication. We all huddled in a little chapel area trying to avoid the rain but we were all soaked. Some of the funeral umbrellas broke with the violence of the wind. Hail was hitting us under the roof. But the ceremony went on just like it was a beautiful sunny day. I was astonished. Then the sky cleared enough for us to find our way back to our cars. A fitting send-off since our pastor was a Navy veteran and storms like this were commonplace for him. Overall it was a marvelous day.
I was here for the first time on Thursday the 29th of 2019 for the burial of the unknown unattended Soldier. I thought the services were wonderful and I believe everything was done with the most utmost reverence for the buried soldiers there. However a reasonably cheap public address system so everyone could hear the speakers would be wonderful there was a large crowd there and I personally was towards the front and still couldn't understand what the gentlemen were saying as they Spoke if people are willing to attend these Services then they're willing to listen .
