Toadstool Geologic Park is located in the Oglala National Grassland in far northwestern Nebraska. It is operated by the United States Forest Service. It contains a badlands landscape and a reconstructed sod house. The park is named after its unusual rock formations, many of which resemble toadstools.

  • This state park has some very neat looking rock formations you can see on a 1 mile hike. If you are in good shape this is an easy hike. If you are mobility impaired, have bad knees, or balance...  more »

  • Very intersting geology and paleontology. If your bringing a camper it needs to be small to fit one of the 6 sites with no services, just 2 pit toilets. This would be a great spot for dark sky viewing.
  • The pride of all Nebraska. Fun to hike and climb. Longer trails can be pretty muddy if it rained recently, so be prepared in the footwear department. Picnic tables and bathrooms near entrance!
