Crater of Diamonds State Park is a 911-acre (369 ha) Arkansas state park in Pike County, Arkansas, in the United States. The park features a 37.5-acre (15.2 ha) plowed field, the world's only diamond-bearing site accessible to the public. Diamonds have continuously been discovered in the field since 1906, including the Strawn-Wagner Diamond. The site became a state park in 1972 after the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism purchased the site from the Arkansas Diamond Company and Ozark Diamond Mines Corporation, who had operated the site as a tourist attraction previously.

  • Have teen boys, thought this would be fun to get them out of the house. Cheap tickets and rental tools! If there is a chance of rain, wear rubber boots! It gets muddy very quickly and the mud...  more »
  • I'm not going to lie. You will get dirty! We stayed all day, took a five gallon bucket of gravel cores home to dry out and sort and we had a great day outside, working together. No complaints. I.....  more »

  • Fun day digging for diamonds... recommend bringing some kind of cover, this place is like the surface of the sun, it was 98° mid September... we used a 10 x 10 canopy and then attached a tarp on the side that we moved with the sun. You can take your own digging equipment or rent some there... remember whatever you take must be taken in by hand and hauled back out again.
  • Such a fun activity to do with friends and family and you never know you might find a real diamond. The facility is well maintained, there are people to guide you and identify the stones you collected. The field is pretty big and you can rent the equipments to dig and clean your treasure. Overall it was a good experience for $10 fee. Must have experience
