Round Peak Vineyard, Mount Airy

Our favorite winery with everything- good wines, good craft beers, view, patio, staff, cheese/meat tray, small cool dog park with trees, etc. We both had a flight of wine that we could take out on the patio to enjoy with the view. They also had excellent craft beer. I like wine but love craft beer. I had a flight of very good craft beer as well. We walked the vineyard afterward so no issues driving.

HUGE disappointment. Rude, inattentive tasting room wench did nothing more than rush me and my husband through our tasting and read us the brief wine notes on the info sheet. Thanks, we can read. Offered no info on the wine, vineyard, grapes, process, etc. Was too busy serving beer to a small group in the room. Tasting room small and unimpressive, a surprise given the land it's on..we expected more. And to beat all: all of the wines sucked. Bitter, sharp tasting... No subtle tannins or complexity. No identifiable notes of much of anything. Could buy better boxed wines at the grocery. Don't waste your time with this place.
