Mendocino Headlands State Park is stunningly beautiful. The fact that a lot of it is just part of the town of Mendocino makes it all the more interesting. It changes often during the day, whether it..... more »
This is such a beautiful place! When you're here it's like the fresh ocean air heals your soul. It's refreshing and you feel like you can breathe again. We love coming here every year to get away from the summer heat. There are different places to wander around and you can get some lovely pictures as well :) It's very peaceful even though there is sometimes quite a few different people walking around, everyone is very respectful, nobody is loud or anything. I believe there's a bathroom on this site too, to the north side of the park. It's quite a bit cleaner than the one on the south side of town. That other bathroom is nearly constantly busy so we go to this other one when we can. Sometimes when there's not a lot of people around, you can close your eyes and nap for a little bit. There's also a little tree grove area out looking the seaside cliffs and it's a cool place to take pictures. There grove area is pretty cool too because the trees make a little circle around an area with a picnic table. Overall it's a nice place to relax :)
Very beautiful location. Many winding paths of sand on a rocky, but 1 sandy, coast. Some ruins of what looks to once have been a dock or harbor. Interesting and very amazing at sunset. A little chilly even in summer, bring a jacket!
