  • Wow, had no idea something this great was so close! Beautiful views from every overlook, and you will leave with an understanding of Geo. Washington's vision for a canal. I've visited the southern end of the Park at Mt. Vernon many times in my life, but the northwestern-most end is really a stunning visit. Highly recommended!
  • Great Falls is so much fun! Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. It would be wise to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated as well. There's tables to enjoy your packed lunch. There's parking and bathrooms too. Great Falls also sells food and beverages. I really like the Virginia side but it's beautiful no matter what side and it only takes a moment to see both sides.
