  • This wildlife refuge is home to the elusive American alligator and the last red wolves. I encourage everyone to consider the low cost red wolf howl tour as well as the canoe trip. Both are lead by the remarkably informed interns at the refuge. Do make sure someone knows how to row on the canoe trip, however, otherwise it will prove quite an adventure. Otherwise, enjoy the wild peace of this remarkable place. If inspired, become part of the effort to save the last red wolves.
  • This place is gorgeous but misleading.. you drive through it from a road. The GPS tried to get us to go to a navy only area... Just be careful there are a TON of private drives! Other than that it was super pretty but we did not see any animals whatsoever.
