Rainbow Falls, Manitou Springs

#8 of 9 in Nature in El Paso County
Waterfall · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Rainbow Falls (informally known as Graffiti Falls) is a waterfall located on Fountain Creek in Manitou Springs, Colorado. The falls are known for the large amount of graffiti painted on the canyon walls and bridge overpass. The falls' plunge is located beneath a bridge that links Manitou Avenue to Highway 24.

The trailhead to the falls is located on a 180-degree bend on Serpentine Drive, about 1⁄2 mile (0.80 km) off of Highway 24 across from the entrance to the Cave of the Winds. The falls were closed in 2013 for improvement from the El Paso County Parks Department, but have since reopened with a concrete walkway that snakes along the river.

  • Super fun place to cool off and chill. Would be better if parents who took their kids with them would actually read the signs and keep their kids off the rocks and bridge. All it’s going to take is a child to fall, get injured and then they will close it till further notice. Parents, please do everyone a favor and respect the rules. September-November are Saturday and Sunday May/June to September are Friday-Sunday I’m not sure about hours. I know it closes at 4pm
  • One of my favorite places to go when I am in Manitou springs. It is now under county control so they only have it open to the public on certain days and times. Other then that, a great place to just relax and play in some cold water.
