Trip Planner: USA / New Jersey / Jersey Shore / Cape May County / Lower Township / Cold Spring Brewery
In early 2014, the HCSV Foundation Board of Trustees voted unanimously to pursue the development of a small brewery on the Village grounds with the name Cold Spring Brewery. To this end, and in keeping with the mission of the Historic Cold Spring Village, an 1804 three bay English-style Cape May County barn from Upper Township was purchased. Stillwell and Elizabeth Corson, a familiar name in the County, built the classic building. Permission to restore and reconstruct the barn, board by board, and place it on Village property was received from both the Lower Township and County of Cape May Zoning Boards along with approvals to utilize the barn in connection with the proposed brewery. Although the barn/brewery is located outside the Village fencing, it remains part and parcel of the 30 acres that are located between Seashore Road and Route 9 in Cold Spring, containing 27 restored historic structures.Plan your visit to Cold Spring Brewery and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our North Cape May trip maker app.
Funding for the project was secured through HCSV Foundation’s fundraising events, donations, memberships, retail sales, corporate sponsorship for programs and gate revenue. Its purpose is to stabilize the museum for future generations to enjoy.

Cold Spring Brewery reviews
Decided to make a detour with a few of the guys in our family to hit a few breweries while staying in Wildwood Crest. I hadn't heard of Cold Spring Brewery before, but we found it searching maps... more »
I stopped in today to check out the Brewery and store. I accidentally left my wallet. The bartender saw I had a AAA card so contacted them to contact me. What a nice guy! He was telling me all... more »
Great little brewery that is a nice break from the beach and boardwalk. The story of the building and how they moved it here is cool. Plenty of old artifacts line the walls, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The beers range from above average to very good. Well worth a few hours of your vacation to check it out.
Do not listen to the negative reviews of the beer. Cold Spring Brewery brews some great beer. We tried all of the beers on tap, and all of them were good. I particularly liked the farmhouse ale, which had lovely little sour notes to it, and the German wheat. I even liked their IPAs, and I'm typically not a fan. Cool location. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great beer. It is worth a stop, and we would definitely go back.
