The Lomita Railroad Museum is a museum in Lomita, California devoted to California railroad history during the steam era.

It was founded by Irene Lewis in the early 1960s on a single lot in the middle of a residential part of Lomita, and had its grand opening on June 23, 1967. The museum building is a replica of a 19th-century depot, Boston & Maine's Greenwood Station that once stood in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and there is a full size replica of a water tower. The museum grounds now function as a small public park.

  • Small but very awesome little museum found in a residential neighborhood. Free parking on site. $4 for adults, $2 for children 3+. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. There are a lot of cool items inside the museum, and you're able to walk inside the trains which are well kept. There's a small park across the way with a couple of trains, benches and shade which would be a perfect spot for lunch after visiting the museum. My kiddos and I will definitely be back.
  • A little gem on a quiet residential street. Lots of detailed local RR history and lots about miniature ride - on live steam locomotives. No rides. It's a history museum, not an amusement park. We loved it.
