Alafia River State Park is a Florida State Park, located near Picnic in Hillsborough County in central Florida, 17 miles southeast of Tampa on County Road 39. Even before it became a park, the area, and particularly Hurrah Lake, was the center of leisure activities since the early 1880s.

A 1 day ride. Plenty of tree coverage and very well marked trails. Trail maps at park entrance and also well mapped via AllTrails app. Many great trails, lots of blues and interesting blacks... more »

This was our 1st mountain biking experience and wow it was amazing! The trail has 3 to 4 levels of difficulty. He moderate and difficult levels are treacherous- branches hanging over your path... more »

Great park for biking! If you don't like biking, it might be boring. It's very relaxing but you have to leave the park to go fishing. There are no washer and dryers, so don't plan on washing any clothes. This is the first state park I've been to that has camping but doesn't offer laundry area.. Very friendly and helpful ranger at the front gate. I'd definitely come back for the trails. If you like quiet and wildlife, this is also for you.

Great park for walking/hiking and biking. There are plenty of trails to choose from and they intersect in such a way that you can see the advanced bike riders doing their crazy trails without getting in the way. They vary in length so there are shorter and easier (but still fun) trails available for kids. There is a playground, picnic area, and bathroom near the parking lot as well. Parking is good except during peak times when you may have to park a little farther away. The staff is always friendly.
