Theme Park · Water / Amusement Park
Half theme park and half water park, Idlewild & SoakZone offers a mix of adventure areas, dry rides, and waterslides. Named “Best Children’s Park in the World” by Amusement Today, the park also stands as the oldest theme park in Pennsylvania. In Storybook Forest, young children can interact with characters from their favorite fairy tales. Take a ride on the classic Rollo Coaster for more of a thrill. Cool down in the wave pool, lazy river, or on one of the various waterslides. You can book strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs online in advance. • This is a great park for the whole family. It's definitely geared toward younger children, but I take my 3 teens, and we have a really fun time. The water park has something for everyone, from the Lazy River and Wave pool, to the section for toddlers. I have a disabled daughter. My husband puts her on my lap in the toddler pool, and we enjoy relaxing and watching the little ones. There are family bathrooms and lockers to rent. There are also tents to rent but you can bring your own small tent or umbrella and set it up on the grassy area between the pools. If you come in a wheelchair, be careful to park where it's more wheelchair friendly, either the lot to the left (flat entrance) or lot C. Ask at the gate. They'll direct you. Other entry points have a hill that's hard to navigate. Also there are lots of pavilions for picnicking or hosting a gathering. We have season passes, as do many of our church family. I hope you enjoy!
  • We love Idlewild. This is the first year I've been there probably since I was a kid. We have a 2 year old we took for the first time, she absolutely loves it so much we ended up getting season tickets. (Which I recommend if you're planning to go more than once. They pay for themselves after 2 visits) we've never had a problem any time we've been there. The water area is great. The trolley is fun for any kid who loves Daniel Tiger.
