LV-118 is one of the 17 remaining lightships out of 179 that served to protect ships for over a century. It was stationed off the coast of Long Island, Boston Harbor and Martha's Vineyard. I have not been on too many lightships, but this one is like the others. However, the museum here is very good, and the tour guide is very informative. more »

Volunteers provide tours of the ship that last 30-40 minutes. There is also a small gift shop and museum. The only way to go into the ship is his a tour. In 2019, tours cost $5 for adults, children 14 and under a free. The tour guides provide facts of the ship as well as a few stories. Highly recommend the tour .

Great little stop for families. The play ground is really cute with some great photo opps. You can also find a few of the local National Parks passport stamps here.
