The Legend of Four Roses Bourbon
It began when Paul Jones, Jr., the founder of Four Roses Bourbon, became smitten by the beauty of a Southern belle. It is said that he sent a proposal to her, and she replied that if her answer were "Yes," she would wear a corsage of roses on her gown to the upcoming grand ball. Paul Jones waited for her answer excitedly on that night of the grand ball…when she arrived in her beautiful gown, she wore a corsage of four red roses. He later named his Bourbon "Four Roses" as a symbol of his devout passion for the lovely belle, a passion he thereafter transferred to making his beloved Four Roses Bourbon.
Four Roses reviews
This distillery is very elegant (although it needs some new paint) and the most beautiful bottle in my opinion. We couldn’t have the tasting- Covid-19 issues- but it was worthwhile going there. more »
Only the visitors center is open but you can still enjoy the beautiful scenery and the smell of bourbon in the making. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are clean. I look forward to being able..... more »
Of all the Bourbon Trail stops, this one gave an impactful experience. The tour guide, Anna, was exceptionally kind and clearly possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of the Four Roses history and development process. The personal touches Four Roses makes through the branding, history and distillery tour makes this bourbon personal and with that the best of all Kentucky straight bourbons. Highly encourage anyone who fancies themselves a fan of this truly American product to visit Four Roses and experience the difference yourself. Well done again Anna! Thank you!
The location is beautiful. The store is quite nice and fully stocked. My only critique and this is really a matter of taste. I would rather had paid a little more for the tasting and enjoyed a better set up - rather than a self serve, grab your glass and seat ambiance. Just my thoughts. I would still recommend Four Roses Distillery because it is beautiful.
