Bumpass Hell, Lassen Volcanic National Park

A relatively easy to moderate hike brings you across sweeping landscapers as the valleys open up around you. These let up as you decent into and the egg/sulphur smell let's you know you're close. These natural hot pots and steam vents are an amazing beautiful part of our natural world and definitely worth it. Tip: I prefer going right once you get down into the valley, left brings you to more of an overlook that lets you get a big scope on all of the smaller area you've seen walking around already.

This is a great feature of Lassen NP. At time of my visit the main entrance to Bumpass Hell was closed so we had to hike from Kings Creek Meadow. The hike is long but well worth and goes through a cold boiling lake. I highly recommend this route. Bumpass Hell itself is spectacular specially when coming from Kings Creek meadow. My only issue is with the boardwalk which is very short and does not bring close to any of the fumaroles, but all in all it's an amazing place.
