Pershing State Park is a public recreation area covering more than 5,000 acres (2,000 ha) off U.S. Route 36, three miles west of Laclede in Linn County, Missouri. The state park was named in honor of General of the Armies John J. Pershing, who led the United States forces in Europe in World War I and who grew up in Laclede.

    Tent camped - didn't get the site I'd wanted (and subsequently it remained vacant all night), but I did get a much-needed shower - nice setup. Something should really be done about the traffic...  more »

    We have stayed here once before. This time the weather was nasty - rain and cold. There were flash flood warnings for nearby rivers but we stayed dry in the park. There were nicely paved roads and....  more »

    Unfortunately, due to our physical limitations, we couldn't hike the boardwalk, so we weren't able to see what I've read are the best parts of this park. The areas of the park we were able to see were nice, but there's no swimming allowed in any of the park's four small lakes. My dog Lacey wasn't happy about that, but we did find a water spigot to help her cool off.

    What a lovely little state park. The broad walks over the marshes are just so beautiful especially in the morning. The campsite host could not have been more friendly or helpful. Seemed to be there and active all evening which is not true of most state park campgrounds. Definitely recommend it if you are in the area. Had such a peaceful feel to it.
