Must see · Forest · Mysterious Site
Glide among the tops of giant redwood trees in an enclosed gondola at Trees of Mystery. Giant wooden statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, among the sculptures and carvings illustrating the adventures of this famous logger and his crew, will greet you. Put on your hiking shoes and explore the more physically demanding wilderness trail. After seeing trees shaped like an elephant, a candelabrum, and a cathedral, rest under painted ceilings of the forest cafe. Finish your journey at the museum, which features a large collection of Native American arts and crafts, including basketry, beadwork, shell work, and a modern stone carving. • I LOVED this visiting spot. Beautiful, family-friendly attraction on an astounding road. It was a great way to interact with the redwoods in an educational manner. Great kitsch in the gift shop. Giant statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Ox. Best of all, I could share every bit of my experience (including the gondola) with my dog as they are very dog-friendly. What a fun place!
  • The Trees of Mystery was awesome! They've done a great job ensuring you can learn all you want to know about Redwoods or if you prefer to just take a hike, you can ignore the signs and do what you want. The tram ride was super fun and totally worth taking to see the view from the top. When was the last time you saw redwoods from the treeline? Never right? Go, have fun, and check out bull balls!
