Simmons Island Beach, Kenosha

We tried to visit on a warm 90° weekend and it was too crowded to find parking. We ended up going on the Friday afternoon before Labor Day, when the weather was in the 80's.. There weren't many people there and everyone was spread out. There is a walkway that takes you closer to the water. This was nice because the sand is very soft and hard to walk in. The beach was clean, minus some cigarette butts and paper blowing around. The bathrooms were closed at the time of our visit. All of the trash cans in the area had been recently emptied. The water was beautiful but cold! There was a nice breeze coming in off the lake. On a cloudy day it might have been chilly but the sun made it very comfortable. There were several boats & jet skies in the water. A few people were swimming but not staying in the water for long periods of time. This is a beautiful beach to visit for relaxing, sunbathing and playing in the sand!

Popular beach in Kenosha WI. Plenty of possibilities for summer time fun and outings. Several sheltered areas as well as comfort facilities. Playground for the children. Many restaurants nearby. It plays host to several events in a normal season (not 2020 for sure). Plenty of parking in the area.
