National WWI Museum and Memorial explores the Great War in detail, from its origins to its legacy. Enter the modern facility across a glass bridge above a field of 9,000 red poppies. Each flower represents 1,000 World War I combatant deaths. Inside the museum, you can watch short documentaries about the war, study period artifacts, interact with multimedia displays, and explore replicas of trenches. The on-site cafe is decorated with World War I-themed furnishings and plays music of the era. A trip up the Liberty Memorial Tower is included in the ticket price. Man! I love this place. Great place for families and to just walk around. A lot to see, to educate and entertain the kids. Rich history that should never be forgotten. My family and I visit this place frequently. Not only to visit the museum, but most of the time to have picnics at the back-end on the grass which is graced with a spectacular view of downtown and crown station. Always a to go for me!

Way better than I expected. The museum is bigger than I thought it would be and really cool. The kids didn't like it we should have left them at home but I didn't expect to want to stay very long so I guess we will know better next time. If you go up in the tower go before it gets hot so you aren't standing in line in the heat and the tower is not air-conditioned either so it's best to do that part early. The kids did like the tower quite a bit.
