  • Mirror Lake Trail is great! The trail is well maintained, and they have added new bridges across some of the creeks. The weather was not great when we were there, so when we got to the lake it was.....  more »

  • As a wildland firefighter this trail really concerns me. The entire hike up to the lake there are snags everywhere, many right next to the trail. Whether or not the root system is sturdy at the moment, it will eventually fail. Why not get rid of them now? I’ve noticed what looks like a pretty poor attempt to brush dead vegetation to the green, however, a lot of brush is littered everywhere on each side of the trail. I would assume that it has already been tried due to seeing some burnt stumps and possibly cut trees. Please fix this trail. It is a beautiful hike up to the top but worrying about trees falling over and killing me or my loved ones makes me not ever want to come back. Same goes for all the dead vegetation covering the forest floor. If a fire was to break out down there, no one from the top of the hike would be able to get through the EXTREME temperature cause by all the burning brush down below.
  • Hike to mirror lake is 4+ miles round trip. Trail head is changed now. Half the trail is pretty new. Trail is very pretty, though the woods. Keeps climbing on the way to the lake. Effort is really worth it. Lake is really pretty. you can see the reflection of Mt Hood and trees around the lake. There is a camp site as well next to the lake. I saw couple of folks doing fly fishing. Don't miss it if you are visting Mt Hood and have enough time.
