Bishop's Orchards is an agricultural operation in Guilford, Connecticut, that serves as a farm, retail market, tourist attraction and winery.

Bishop's Orchards began operating as a family farm in 1871. Over the years, Bishop's Orchards expanded to a 313-acre (1.27 km2) farm, with the Bishop family members maintaining control of all duties ranging from corporate decision-making to retail operations to crop maintenance. In 2007, the Bishop family members created a 10-year stock purchase and loan program to ensure a continuation of family ownership.
Bishop's Orchards has attracted tourism via its retail market and seasonal apple- and pumpkin-picking programs; visits by local school groups are also coordinated.

  • My children (aged 3 & 10) had a blast on the simple rides at this stopover on our way from NYC to Cape Cod. It was October and the rides were out for the fall. Some were in poor shape for my liking...  more »
  • Great food and shopping. The experience is great and the fresh produce is worth a trip. Try the wine.  more »

  • I have not visited the farm store in a couple of years, but when I am in the area and it is peach season, yum! I have to stop by. Since last visit (2016), the store is expanded and not for the better. Disappointed that more Bishop grown or locally grown produce is not available. Why would I want to buy California products in Connecticut? Stop trying to compete with the chain supermarkets, I visit the store to buy local. I did get my peaches but passed on the California strawberries.
  • Bishops provides great local produce at a good price. The staff is constantly updating the bins and picking any downers. Their ciders are good, as is their wine if you like the fruit wines. Sometimes crowded, the cashier peeps will get you through quickly. Animals in the good weather amuse children, good ready prepared meals. Meat is expensive. Environmentally forward they grow their own energy. Please bring your own bag. Cheers!
