At Dinosaur Valley State Park you can explore the area once roamed by prehistoric giants and even see their tracks in the ground. The park offers numerous campsites for both modern and primitive camping. You can explore via a network of hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails, and enjoy swimming areas. Park rangers hold workshops where you can improve your skills in fishing, archery, and geocaching. The kids can admire large dinosaur statues. Follow the trails to the riverbed to find dinosaur tracks. The water is usually shallow enough for the tracks to be visible and accessible. • Some of our party had some light difficulties walking but we’re still able to access the main tracks site. Stunning scenes on the river accompany this truly remarkable site. Well worth the access fee  more »
  • Our favorite part was horseback riding. The employees of the Eagle Eye Ranch Carriage Company were great with our 5 & 8 year old grandkids. They were always making sure they were safe and having fun.....  more »

  • Outstanding state park. Authentic dinosaur footprints are visible in the river and exciting to look at for all, especially the children. The river is a great swimming hole, winding through the park with several beach fronts on both shallow and deeper portions. Hiking trails make this park a great visit for the whole family. Friendly staff will offer any help needed and small store for souvenirs and snacks/drinks/camping supply is excellent. Large dino mock-up outside the shop is a great photo for the children.
  • I used to live near here and came here quite often so fun to see the authentic Dinosaur foot prints, only visible when river is dry in certain areas. I love the swimming holes. It's just a good place to hike and enjoy beautiful Texas! Y'all be safe driving on the two lane highways down there, I've seen many, serious head-on collisions. God bless and have fun in TEXAS ❤
