  • Other than the beaches here, we went to visit this train museum. This is a nice museum geared toward family with small kids. And you can take a train ride, more like a kiddies amusement park ride....  more »
  • gets you back at an age you sometimes forget about ....so long ago. The train museum is also nice and brings back memories. Could be nice to visit with your well-behaved kids....  more »
  • Small footprint, but excellent museum of railroads in SWFL and elsewhere. Scale railroad display with local scenes, many artifacts and displays. Virtual railroad allows a child (or adult!) to interact with an authentic engine control panel and guide their "train" down the "track". Film and self-guided tour, as well. Knowledgeable and friendly docents eager to share their expertise.
  • It is nice but it is very small. I wouldn't really call it much of a museum. However, it is nice to pop in for a minute just to check it out while you are at the park. Lakes Park itself is one of the best parks I have ever been to. If you aren't there for the park, however, don't go expecting it to be a legit museum.
