This is a large park just outside downtown Excelsior. Great views of the lake. There is a beach, ball park, and plenty of places to sit for a picnic. more »

Two beaches, softball fields, tennis courts, basketball, picnic tables, Tommy's Trolley for ice cream and kayak rentals. Parking is not free - metered street parking only, but you can park for free... more »

When boating on Lake Minnetonka, I find myself visiting the Excelsior Commons. Especially when I stay over night on the boat. I wake up and take in some breakfast at one of the many restaurants around the Excelsior Commons. Great food and staff at all the restaurants I've visited so far.

If you visit one park on Lake Minnetonka, this should be it. After strolling Downtown Excelsior and eating at one of their fabulous restaurants, stop for ice cream at Licks or Sebastian Joe's. Rent a kayak. Join a cruise. Stroll the beach. Throw a Frisbee. Take in the concert on the commons. Heck, you can even rent a party boat where you paddle for your brew. Something for everyone. All surrounded by beauty.
